Make the example fit your life

Start with your base hourly wage and actual weekly hours. Add only tips you keep after sharing tips with coworkers; do not add them again if your entered base pay already includes them. Select Per shift, Per week, Per month or Per year for extra pay. For example, $120 per shift across five workdays produces the same $600 in weekly tips. Per-shift amounts follow the Days off per week dropdown, assuming one shift each workday. For double shifts or an irregular schedule, entering a weekly tip total is more useful. Average several recent weeks of tips to reflect both busy and quiet shifts, then compare a lower-tip week with your usual week. With two unpaid weeks, this example becomes $52,500 a year. Monthly extra pay always uses 12 months; annual extra pay is added once. The same fields also work for bartender tips, commissions and other extra income. Put your result to work

Does the server paycheck calculator show my actual paycheck after taxes?

It estimates combined take-home income using the deduction amounts and tax percentages you enter. It does not reconstruct employer payroll or calculate special tax treatment for tips. Tips received separately from payroll are still included in your combined budgeting income, so the per-period result may differ from your deposited paycheck. Check your pay stub, enter your own estimates and keep gross earnings separate from take-home income.
